قال المهندس حافظ السعيد، رئيس هيئة النظافة بمحافظة القاهرة، إن حجم القمامة التى رُفعت من منطقة وسط البلد، بعد احتفالات رأس السنة، تقدر بنحو 4 طن، مشيرًا إلى أنه تم الانتهاء من رفع كافة المخلفات الصباح الباكر عقب الانتهاء من احتفالات رأس السنة.
وأضاف السعيد، في تصريحات لـ”منطقتي” أن صناديق القمامة أمام المحلات ساهمت في عدم انتشار القمامة في الشوارع خاصة بمنطقة وسط البلد، لافتا إلى أنه لم يتم الإضرار بالمساحات الخضراء بوسط البلد مثل ميدان التحرير اثناء الاحتفال بالعام الجديد read this.
